THIGHPLASTY
Thighplasty refers to a group of procedures performed to improve the contour of the thighs. Variations include medial thighplasty, extended thighplasty and lateral thighplasty.
Medial thighplasty improves the upper, inner thigh by removing skin and fat at the inner thigh crease. Improvements in contour closer to the knee require an extended medial thighplasty.
Lateral thighplasty can help elevate the trochanteric fat pads (also known as saddle bags) using an incision at the waist. Trade-offs include scars that fade with time.
Thighplasties are performed under general anesthesia and usually take two to four hours depending on the extent of the surgery.
