Areas of Expertise
With an artistic side dating back to age seven, Dr. Askren took a special interest in the human form early on. Throughout medical school his medium was pencil or pen and ink, which facilitated his work in medicine - particularly plastic surgery. Having illustrated a number of articles and medical textbooks, he now applies his artistic skills to living tissue and believes that artistic talent and plastic surgery are a natural combination.

Dr. Askren's plastic surgery practice began by repairing difficult facial deformities and reconstructive procedures on the face, breast and body. This exposure provided an excellent foundation for understanding wound healing and tissue handling for aesthetic procedures. His primary focus now is that of aesthetic face and breast surgery. Holding safety as the number one priority, he takes a conservative approach to the treatment and management of his patients.
